The following are amazing charities and organisations that you may find helpful if needed.

Young Minds

The UK's leading charity fighting for children and young people's mental health. They aim to make sure all young people get the best possible mental health support and have the resilience to overcome life's challenges. For more information look at the YoungMinds website www.youngminds.org.uk

The Samaritans

To talk about anything that is upsetting you, contact Samaritans 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Call 116 123 (free from any phone) or email jo@samaritans.org or you can visit branches in person. You can also call the Welsh Language Line on 0808 1640123 (7p.m-11p.m daily)   www.samaritans.org

Sane

If  you are experiencing a Mental Health problem or supporting someone else, you can call SANEline on 07984 967708. Leave your name and a contact number and someone will contact you as soon as possible, or email support@sane.org.uk.   Please note that due to the current circumstances regarding covid, SANEline cannot fully operate at the moment   www.sane.org.uk

The Mix

If you are under 25, you can call The Mix on 0808 808 4994 (7 days a week from 4 pm - 11 pm). If you are feeling you can't cope you can contact the crisis messenger 24/7 by texting 'The Mix' to 5258   www.themix.org.uk

Calm

If you identify as male you can call The Campaign Against Living Miserably on 0800 585858 (5p.m-midnight daily, 365 days a year) or use their webchat service. www.thecalmzone.net

Papyrus

​If you are under 35 and struggling with suicidal feelings, or concerned about someone, you can call Papyrus HOPELINE UK on 0800 068 4141 (weekdays 9a.m-10p.m, weekends 2p.m-10p.m and bank holidays 2p.m-10p.m) or you can email   pat@papyrus-uk.org or text 07860 039967   www.papyrus-uk.org

Nightline

Services are running in term time only, type in the name of your University and you can see the opening hours and how to make contact.  They also run an instant messaging service between 8p.m- 2a.m.  Alternatively, you can email   listening@leedsnightline.co.uk

Switchboard

If you identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender, you can call SWITCHBOARD on 0300 330 0630 (10a.m-10p.m daily) or email   chris@switchboard.lgbt or use their webchat service. Phone operators all identify as LGBT+   www.switchboard.lgbt

C.A.L.L

If you live in Wales you can call the Community Advice and Listening Line on 0800 132 737 (open 24/7) or you can text help followed by a question to 81066    www.callhelpline.org.uk

Shout

Shout has a 24/7 text service for anyone in crisis anytime. The service is free on all major mobile networks. Text SHOUT to 85258   www.giveusashout.org

Kooth

Kooth is an interactive mental health tool that offers counselling, chat and messaging,  plus the chance of connecting with others, checking in daily with how you feel and tools to improve and support your mental health. There is discussion boards,tips, advice goal tracking and a journal.  Visit www.kooth.com  and fill in your details to be part of the community.

Suicide & Co.

Suicide & Co are a charity that has been set up to support those bereaved by suicide, with a mission to support the bereaved and to open up the conversation around suicide-related grief. Their main method of support for those bereaved is their counselling service that offers 12 free counselling sessions to anyone 18+ living in England and Wales who has lost a loved one to suicide.  ​www.suicideandco.org
